These terms apply to every one to one mentorship engagement with me, Sinta Ebersohn. By submitting an application you confirm that you have read them and agree to them.
Application
Mentorship is by application only and is open to adults aged eighteen and over. Applying costs nothing and commits neither of us to anything. Every application is reviewed, and you will receive feedback within two working days. Not every application leads to a discovery session, and I am not obliged to give reasons for my decision.
The discovery session
If your application is successful, we meet online for a free twenty minute discovery session. Its only purpose is for both of us to decide whether to work together. No payment is requested during the session, and either of us may decide not to go ahead.
Commitment and payment
After the discovery session you have twenty four hours to sign up. If you go ahead, you pay from a link I share with you.
You can pay in one of two ways:
In full: R25 000 for the three months (approximately $1 530 depending on the exchange rate on the day).
Monthly: three payments of R8 700 (approximately $532 each) totalling R 26 100. The first is paid when you commit, and the next two are taken automatically on the same date in each of the following two months.
Your place is confirmed once the first payment is received. Your commitment is for the full three months, and your price is fixed from the day you commit until the end of them.
Payments not received
Mentorship is paid in advance. If a payment is not received on its due date, that month’s sessions do not go ahead and will be cancelled.
Refunds
There are no refunds. Your place and your weekly time are held for you alone, for each of the three months.
Your sessions
You receive twelve sessions of one hour each, held online, once a week, over three consecutive months. We agree on a specific day and time at the start, from the times I have available in my calendar. That hour is then held for you every week for the full three months. I schedule all twelve sessions for you, and you receive a calendar invitation.
Postponing a session
Each of us may postpone up to two sessions within the three months, with at least 24 hours’ notice. Postponed sessions are rescheduled to a time that suits us both, so you still receive all twelve. A session missed beyond those two is not replaced, unless an emergency made it unavoidable. Missing a session without notice is dealt with under the clause Ending mentorship early.
Pausing
You may pause your mentorship for a maximum of two weeks. Beyond that the momentum of the work is lost.
Ending mentorship early
I may end our mentorship before the three months are over if you:
(a) do not attend a scheduled session and did not cancel or postpone at least 24 hours beforehand;
(b) do not cooperate with the guidance I give you;
(c) do not apply what you learn to your every day life;
(d) do not make use of the references and referrals I give you; or
(e) otherwise do not take part in the process sufficiently.
Missing a scheduled session without 24 hours’ notice means you forfeit all your remaining mentorship sessions, unless you give me a reasonable explanation of a valid emergency, within 24 hours after the missed session.
Mentorship is paid monthly in advance. If your mentorship is forfeited or ended under this clause, no refund is given for any payment already made.
Contact between sessions
You may reach me directly on WhatsApp during office hours, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. I reply personally as soon as possible. Outside office hours and over weekends I am available only in an emergency.
Confidentiality
What you share with me is kept strictly confidential. The only exceptions are where the law requires me to report, or where there is a serious risk of harm to you or to someone else, particularly a child. South African law places a duty on every person to report a sexual offence against a child, and I will comply with it.
Mentorship and clinical care
Mentorship is not therapy, and it is not psychological or psychiatric treatment. I do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. What I offer draws on all ten of my professional designations, according to what you need. If you are under the care of a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist, or taking medication for your mental health, that care continues under those professionals throughout our work together. I will not replace or interfere with it, and you agree to continue that treatment regardless of our work. Whether I work alongside any other practitioner is decided case by case. Where something needs a specialist, I will tell you and may refer you to someone in my network.
Crisis support
Mentorship is not crisis or emergency support. If you are in crisis when you apply, mentorship is not the right support for you yet, and I will ask you to seek other help first. You are welcome to apply once you are stable and able to focus on mentorship..
What I guarantee
No honest practitioner in this field can guarantee an outcome, and I certainly do not. What I do guarantee is your twelve sessions and that you leave with skills and tools you know how to use without me. What you gain depends on how you engage with the work during and in between sessions.
After your three months
When your three months end, a break of at least three months is required before a new mentorship engagement can begin. The break is deliberate. It gives you time to apply what you have gained on your own.
Your information
The information in your application and our sessions is used only for your application and your mentorship. It is handled in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act and is not shared without your consent, except as described under Confidentiality.
Changes to these terms
The terms in force on the day you commit apply for the whole of your three months. I reserve the right to update or change these terms at any time, of which you will be notified, in the event that it falls within your mentorship term.
Breach of Agreement
In the event that any party breaches any term of this Agreement and fails to remedy such breach within two calendar days after receipt of written notice, the other party shall be entitled, without prejudice to any other rights available in law, to cancel this Agreement with immediate effect.
Entire Agreement
This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with regard to the matters dealt with herein. No representations, terms, conditions or warranties not contained in this Agreement shall be binding on the parties.
Indulgences
No indulgence granted by either party shall constitute a waiver of any right under this Agreement. A party shall not be precluded from exercising any right against the other by reason of having previously granted an indulgence.
Jurisdiction
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Get Up and Grow reserves the right at its sole discretion to institute proceedings in any competent court with jurisdiction over the matter.
Severability
Should any provision of this Agreement be found void or unenforceable for any reason, that provision shall be severed from the remainder of this Agreement, which shall remain in full force and effect.
